The sale, which offers a rich catalogue of 197 lots, opens with a small but select selection of Old Master Drawings, including a Prophet by Giovanni Battista Beinaschi (lot 12) and an Allegorical Scene by Sebastiano Conca (lot 3).

The selection of Old Masters Paintings is extensive, offering for auction works from various Italian and European schools from the 15th to the 18th century. The protagonists are the two canvases, known to scholars, by Giambattista Pittoni, Venus with Cupids (lot 189) and Diana sleeping with Cupid (lot 190), of exquisite Rococo taste, to which is added the unpublished Apollo playing the lyre with two putti (lot 191), also attributed to the Venetian master and coming from the same private collection.

Also at the centre of the sale are a delightful composition by Nicola Vaccaro depicting Holy Family with St. John (lot 185) and The Blessing of St. Blaise by Giovan Francesco De Rosa, known as Pacecco (lot 186), works from the great Neapolitan Baroque period; and an important St. Jerome on panel with gold background by the Piedmontese school (lot 170).

Among the top lots are Venus and Diana by Giambattista Pittoni (lots 189 and 190), in addition to the previously unseen Apollo (lot 191), attributed to the Venetian master and from the same collection, and two fine chinoiserie temperas by Jean-Baptiste Pillement (lots 192-193).
